Established in 1960, Kalyani University has grown to become one of West Bengal's most respected institutions of higher learning, combining tradition with innovation.
Our History & Vision
Kalyani University was established by the Government of West Bengal under the Kalyani University Act of 1960. The university began its journey with just three departments and has since expanded to encompass a wide range of academic disciplines across multiple faculties.
Located in the historic town of Kalyani, approximately 50 kilometers from Kolkata, our campus spans over 400 acres of lush greenery, providing an ideal environment for academic pursuits and personal growth.
